Parent Heart Watch and 22 Member Organizations Across the Nation to Hold a Sudden Cardiac Arrest Prevention Event

2nd Annual National Youth Heart Screening Day

Saturday, Febuary 7, 2026

Our event will be at Saratoga High School 10am-3pm

Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) strikes 23,000 youth each year affecting many with undiagnosed heart conditions that are found in 1 in 300 seemingly healthy children and young adults. Typical well-child checkups and preparticipation physical evaluations miss up to 90% of youth at risk. Parent Heart Watch and its member organizations have advocated across two decades for better prevention standards through comprehensive heart screenings and cardiac emergency preparedness wherever youth congregate.

National Youth Heart Screening Day is a Call-to-Action: Every Kid. Every Heart.

Our goal is to amplify awareness about the reality of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) in children and young adults, the importance of heart screenings for early detection of risk factors that may lead to sudden cardiac arrest/death. Also, knowing how to recognize and respond to a cardiac emergency by performing hands-only CPR and using an automated external defibrillator (AED) to increase the chance of survival from sudden cardiac arrest.  National Youth Heart Screening Day will impact an estimated 10,000+ youth across 17 states.
